FEELING - A Motion Picture Officially Selected for the 9th Annual National Black Film Festival
Hilton is proud to announce that his latest short film, FEELING - A Motion Picture, has been officially selected to participate in the 9th Annual National Black Film Festival (NBFF), a premiere showcase dedicated to celebrating and empowering Black creatives in film.
Rooted in emotional intimacy, FEELING tells the story of what happened on the night of Elysee Jackson’s 23rd birthday. their connection deepens through conversation, stillness, and music, the film explores how trust and healing can arise from life’s most subtle moments. With a soundtrack featuring iconic artists like Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, and Sade, FEELING stands as both a narrative and sonic love letter to Black artistry.
“This story is deeply personal to me,” says writer-director Hilton Goode. “FEELING is about the spaces we carve out to be seen—to feel—when the world demands that we toughen up. I’m honored that NBFF saw something in this film worth celebrating.”
The National Black Film Festival, held annually in Houston, Texas, provides an essential platform for Black filmmakers to showcase their work to industry professionals, producers, and audiences eager for authentic, underrepresented stories. The festival has become a launchpad for rising talent and a hub for community storytelling.
As Goode’s festival run begins, audiences and supporters are encouraged to stay tuned for screening dates and ticket information at www.nationalblackfilmfestival.com.
